        "content": "<p>Family doctor<\/p>\n<p>From Suara Karya<\/p>\n<p>Suara Karya's editorial on June 25, 1994 entitled Challenges<br>\nto doctors indirectly supports the development of the Family<br>\nDoctors program in Indonesia. Doctors who are interested in this<br>\nprogram are grouped in an institution called College of<br>\nIndonesian Family Doctors. The group was established in 1991, but<br>\nit has made slow progress so far.<\/p>\n<p>Although in foreign countries, including other ASEAN<br>\ncountries, family doctors programs are a recognized branch of<br>\nmedical science, that is not the case in Indonesia. In order to<br>\nobtain the government's recognition some requirements must be<br>\nfulfilled, such as: the existence of an institution of the<br>\nprofession, a journal of family doctors program, society's demand<br>\nfor the service of family doctors, curriculum of family doctors,<br>\npotential market and recognition from the Indonesian Medical<br>\nAssociation. Demands for services of family doctors have come<br>\nfrom several health program related companies like PT Askes<br>\n(health insurance), PT. Astek (employees' insurance) and PT<br>\nBintang Jasa.<\/p>\n<p>And in support of this program the Ministry of Health has<br>\nestablished a working group for family doctors development.
