        "content": "<p>Family Day?<\/p>\n<p>From Pikiran Rakyat<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia has observed Family Day for three consecutive years.<br>\nBut not all people, including myself, understand or know what<br>\nFamily Day is. Neither do we know the purpose and the idea behind<br>\nthe celebration of the day. Is there any family which is so<br>\nsuccessful that it can be regarded as worth celebrating?<\/p>\n<p>We already have Women's Day, in acknowledgment of women's<br>\nstruggle for their right to be considered equal to men. We also<br>\nrecognize a number of historic days such as Youth Pledge Day,<br>\nNational Awakening Day, Education Day, Social Solidarity Day,<br>\nPancasila Sanctity Day, etc. All these are linked to the national<br>\nstruggle and are regarded as great events worth observing.<\/p>\n<p>Then, what is Family day? It was said that on June 29, 1949,<br>\nthe families of freedom fighters got together after being<br>\nseparated for so long during the struggle for independence. In my<br>\nopinion, this is no reason for making June 29 a moment of special<br>\nsignificance. We only need to thank God for His blessing in this<br>\nrespect.
