        "content": "<p>The search for Aiptu Sumaryanto, a member of the Katingan Police\nNarcotics Unit who went missing during a drug eradication operation in\nKatingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, has concluded. The police officer\nwas found dead on Sunday morning, 5 July 2026. The discovery increases\nthe number of fallen victims in the drug enforcement operation in\nTumbang Kalemei Village to three. Previously, Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra\nand Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana were also confirmed dead during the series\nof operations. Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics\nCrime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, stated that\nthe search for Aiptu Sumaryanto commenced at 06.00 WIB, involving a\njoint team from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, the Water and\nAir Police, the 1019\/Katingan Military District Command, the National\nSearch and Rescue Agency, and the local community. The sweep was\nconducted using three rubber boats and eight small motorised canoes\nalong the Katingan River, through forested areas on the riverbanks,\nextending the search area to the Samba Village Market in Central\nKatingan District. The effort yielded results after the team received\ninformation from a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces who\ndiscovered a body in the river current. At 08.42 WIB, information was\nreceived from Babinsa Rantau Asem, Kopda Imam, that a body was in the\nriver at Rantau Asem Village, approximately four kilometres from the\ncrime scene in Tumbang Kalemei Village. The Babinsa then notified the\nsearch team, who proceeded to the location. Following identification at\nthe scene, the body was confirmed to be Aiptu Sumaryanto, who had been\nreported missing since the operation took place in early July. The\nvictim was subsequently evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital in\nPalangkaraya for further handling. The tragic incident began when the\nKatingan Police Narcotics Unit conducted an enforcement operation\nagainst a suspected methamphetamine distribution network in Tumbang\nKalemei Village on Wednesday evening, 1 July 2026. The operation was\nlaunched after police received public information pointing to a target\nwith the initials BIO, a repeat drug offender. Twelve personnel were\ndeployed and divided into two teams to carry out the arrest. As the\ntarget was being secured, the situation suddenly escalated when several\nindividuals inside the target\u2019s house, along with local residents,\nfought back against the officers.<\/p>",
