        "content": "<p>Fallen Daewoo chief removed<\/p>\n<p>SEOUL (AFP): Daewoo Group founder Kim Woo-Choong has been<br>\nofficially removed from the management of three of the group's<br>\nmajor subsidiaries, including his cherished auto firm, officials<br>\nsaid Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The move came on Tuesday just as Kim, chairman of the failed<br>\nconglomerate, bade an emotional farewell to staff in which he<br>\napologized for the management errors which led to the group's<br>\nspectacular collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Officials at Daewoo Motor Co., Daewoo Corp. and Daewoo Heavy<br>\nIndustries confirmed that chairman Kim Woo-Choong was officially<br>\nstruck off the management lists of the three companies as of<br>\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The three companies are among the 12 Daewoo units placed under<br>\nemergency debt rescheduling programs by creditors. Debt-ridden<br>\nDaewoo promised to shed 12 of the 25 units in its business empire<br>\nin a bid to avert bankruptcy.<\/p>",
