Fake rupiah notes confiscated<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): Local police raided a rented house in the Pasir
\nAngin area of Cipayung village which allegedly was used in the
\nproduction of counterfeit rupiah notes.<\/p>\n
The man who leased the house, identified as Alfian, alias
\nSofyan, managed to elude police involved in the early Monday
\nmorning raid.<\/p>\n
Police, however, seized Rp 1.875 billion in counterfeit Rp
\n50,000 notes and a roll of paper as evidence.<\/p>\n
Cisarua Police chief First Lt. Ogiyanto said on Tuesday
\nrelatives and associates of Alfian claimed they knew nothing
\nabout the counterfeiting operation.<\/p>\n
Five people were in the house when the police arrived. The
\nfive were identified as Alfian's wife Sri Agustin, his daughter
\nSanti Yuniati, her husband Oon Rifai and two guests from
\nSemarang, Central Java, Hendra Wijaya and Yenni, alias Chin Lian
\nNio.<\/p>\n
While searching the house, police discovered a pile of
\ncounterfeit bills in a cardboard box placed on top of a stack of
\nfirewood in the kitchen, Ogiyanto said.<\/p>\n
The five people in the house at the time of the raid currently
\nare being questioned by the police, while Alfian remains at
