Herry Soekirman (HS), the suspect behind the forged driving licence\nfor Gilang Ihsan Faruq \u2014 the Cahaya Trans bus driver whose vehicle\nkilled 16 people on the Krapyak Toll Road \u2014 has been found to have\ncarried out forgeries on at least 10 occasions. Herry produced illegal\ndriving licences to order.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the suspect HS\u2019s confession, he has produced or edited\ndriving licences approximately 10 times, according to the requests of\neach individual who contacted him,\u201d said M Syahduddi during a live\nbroadcast on the Semarang Metropolitan Police\u2019s YouTube channel on\nWednesday (18 February 2026).<\/p>\n
In his operations, suspect Herry Soekirman altered the data on\ngenuine driving licences in accordance with suspect Gilang\u2019s request for\na B1 General (public transport) licence.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo initially it was an A-class licence, which was then erased and\nthe data modified to produce a licence in G\u2019s name with a B1 General\nclassification,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
The price charged by suspect Herry Soekirman for producing the forged\nlicence was revealed through suspect Gilang Ihsan Faruq\u2019s confession.\nGilang paid Herry Soekirman Rp 1,300,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on his own confession, G (Gilang) provided funds of Rp\n1,300,000 for the production of the illegal licence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Three individuals have been named as suspects in connection with the\nforged licence. In addition to Gilang and Herry Soekirman, suspect\nMustafa Kamal has been identified for his role in facilitating and\nprofiting from the illegal licence operation.<\/p>\n
Investigators from the Semarang Metropolitan Police have also named\nAhmad Warsito (AW), the President Director of PT Cahaya Wisata\nTransportasi, as a suspect in the bus crash case. Suspect AW is accused\nof failing to carry out his supervisory responsibilities over the\ncompany\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, suspect AW was aware that the bus did not possess a\nroute permit and was operating without oversight, yet still authorised\nits operation despite staff and the company\u2019s head of operations having\nreported that the bus lacked both a route permit and an inspection\ncard.<\/p>\n
Police have also called on transport owners, operators and route\npermit holders to ensure the safety of passengers using their services,\nnoting that a significant increase in public transport usage is expected\nin the coming weeks during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.<\/p>\n
Police expressed their hope that traffic accidents resulting in mass\nfatalities among passengers would not be repeated.<\/p>\n
