        "content": "<p>Fairness urges in graft probe<\/p>\n<p>Muninggar Sri Saraswati, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Transparency International Indonesia has urged the Attorney<br>\nGeneral's Office (AGO) not to single out certain individuals in<br>\ninvestigating a graft scandal at the Ministry of Religious<br>\nAffairs.<\/p>\n<p>The call was made after the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's<br>\nOffice named former auditor of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK)<br>\nKhairiansyah Salman, who recently won the Transparency<br>\nInternational Integrity Award, as a suspect in the case, which<br>\nalso involves former minister Said Agil Husein Al Munawar.<\/p>\n<p>Todung Mulya Lubis, the chairman of Transparency<br>\nInternational Indonesia, said on Wednesday that prosecutors must<br>\ncomplete their investigation without discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors only named Khairiansyah, who was the whistle-<br>\nblower in a high profile bribery case involving a member of the<br>\nGeneral Elections Commission (KPU) that eventually led to the<br>\ninvestigation of a series graft cases within the commission, and<br>\nthree other BPK auditors as suspects for obtaining kickbacks from<br>\nthe ministry.<\/p>\n<p>But according to the charges made against former minister<br>\nSaid, the ministry paid a sum of money to 19 BPK auditors to<br>\ncover up the graft case. Khairiansyah, however, returned the<br>\nmoney to the state.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Todung said Transparency International Indonesia<br>\nhad no authority to withdraw the award given to Khairiansyah, but<br>\nwould report the case against him to Transparency International<br>\nheadquarters in Berlin.<br>\n  Khairiansyah, who is under protection from the Corruption<br>\nEradication Commission (KPK), has been suspended from his<br>\nposition as the antigraft desk manager of the Aceh<br>\nReconstruction Body (BRR) after he was named a suspect in the<br>\ngraft case.<\/p>",
