Factory workers suffer food poison<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: At least 580 workers at the Luen Fung garment factory in
\nBandung, West Java, were taken to the hospital after suffering
\nfood poisoning allegedly caused by the lunch provided by the
\nfactory, causing the plant to temporarily stop production.<\/p>\n
Some 70 workers had to be hospitalized at Muhammadiyah
\nHospital due to dehydration. Another 204 workers were taken to
\nSartika Asih Hospital, of which 26 people had to be admitted. The
\nrest were taken to Al Ihsan Hospital, Immanuel Hospital, Al Islam
\nHospital and the Bina Sehat clinic.<\/p>\n
Several workers interviewed said that catered meals had caused
\ngastrointestinal problems some four hours later.<\/p>\n
Luen Fung human resources manager Yusuf said that this was the
\nsuch first incident at the company, which contracted meal
\ncatering to PT Indosari.<\/p>\n
Muhammadiyah Hospital's Intensive Care Unit head Hamdan S.
\nexplained that the poisoning was likely to have been triggered by
\na bacterial infection.<\/p>\n
Dayeuhkolot police subprecinct chief Adj. Comr. Amrizal M Nur
\nsaid that he had interviewed at least five people from the
\ncatering company. They had also taken water samples from the
\nfactory that he described as having a yellowish color. -- JP<\/p>",
