Factory refuses worker's claim<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The management of PT Truba Raya Trading Factory
\nShoes has denied local newspaper reports that one of its female
\nworkers, Rosidah, miscarried after she was forced to stand in the
\nsun as punishment for taking time off work.<\/p>\n
\"We did punish several workers for not coming to work for a
\ncouple of days. But no one had a miscarriage,\" the company's
\npersonnel manager Sjafri Madjid said yesterday.<\/p>\n
He acknowledged, however, that the punishment was part of the
\nfactory's policies primarily intended to instill a high degree of
\ndiscipline into the workers.<\/p>\n
Sjafri said Rosidah's husband had told him that his wife had a
\nmiscarriage weeks before the punishment.<\/p>\n
\"She lied when she filed a complaint with the police,\" he
\nsaid, \"She also gave a false report to the Bogor Office of the
