        "content": "<p>Eye infection warning<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The public have been warned about the possibility of<br>\neye infections after an outbreak due to the change of season.<\/p>\n<p>Eye specialist Dr. Sjafril Murad, of West Jakarta's Pelni<br>\nPetamburan Hospital, said many patients had come to the hospital<br>\nsuffering from red and swollen eyes.<\/p>\n<p>The disease was caused by a virus which could easily infect<br>\nothers, he said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\"Everybody can get infected, even the doctor himself. Usually<br>\npatients need one week to be cured.\"<\/p>\n<p>He called on the public to watch out for the symptoms of red<br>\nand itchy eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\"Doctors will usually prescribe anti-viral agents and eye<br>\ndrops.\"<\/p>\n<p>Sjafril suggested the public wipe infected eyes with sterile<br>\nbandages soaked in betadine. He also urged those effected to<br>\navoid eating seafood including shrimp and fish.<\/p>\n<p>Eye infections was just one of many diseases that effected<br>\nflood victims after diarrhea and dengue fever. -- Antara<\/p>",
