It's really embarrassing if the plan of some members of the
\nHouse of Representatives (DPR) to make a comparative study to
\nEurope is executed at all. Then they truly lack a sense of
\ncrisis. How could they spend the money so extravagantly at the
\ncost of the people's suffering?<\/p>\n
Even though she is a head of state, Megawati's foreign tour
\nhas been criticized by many circles including the DPR members.
\nBut, strangely, no one makes any comment on some DPR members'
\nplans to conduct a comparative study abroad.<\/p>\n
Frankly, what is the benefit of conducting a comparative study
\nabroad? With the current technology advancement, all data can be
\nobtained from the available communication networks. There have
\nbeen so many comparative studies conducted but none of the
\nresults have seen to be implemented.<\/p>\n
People are already fed up to see the performance and the
\nattitude of their representatives, who are yet to think about the
\npublic interests. Now the political elite, particularly those in
\nthe House of Representatives, should realize and change their
\nattitude. They should demonstrate that they truly represent their
\npeople. They should work to fight for the people's interests and
\nnot for personal benefits, accumulating wealth while
\nopportunities prevail.<\/p>\n
