        "content": "<p>Explosive sources should be tracked down: Kontras<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Bomb attacks are likely to escalate and<br>\nterrorize the public if all government institutions concerned<br>\nfail to track down where the culprits get their explosives from,<br>\na nongovernmental organization dealing with violence said here on<br>\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>The coordinator of the National Commission on Missing Persons<br>\nand Victims of Violence (Kontras), Munarman, suggested that the<br>\nHouse of Representatives should audit all producers of explosives<br>\nand explosive raw materials in the country in order to tackle the<br>\nproblem.<\/p>\n<p>There are five companies that currently receive a license to<br>\nproduce explosive substances, namely, PT Pindad, PT Dahana, PT<br>\nMulti Nitrotama Kimia, PT Tridaya Esta and PT Armindo Prima. The<br>\nfirst two (Pindad and Dahana) supply the military.<\/p>\n<p>\"The police should also alter their method of investigation,<br>\nswitching from focusing on the culprits and their motives to<br>\nfocusing on the sources of the explosives used,\" he told<br>\nreporters.<\/p>\n<p>He added that all the producers record all of their<br>\ntransactions concerning explosive substances.<\/p>\n<p>Kontras reported that the number of bomb explosions has soared<br>\nto 85 cases this year, a five-fold leap from last year, which saw<br>\n17 cases.<\/p>\n<p>The latest case occurred at Atrium Plaza in Senen, Central<br>\nJakarta, in which at least six people were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Munarman said the House should also audit the Indonesian<br>\nMilitary (TNI)'s ammunition repositories to find out if there was<br>\nany unrecorded use.<\/p>\n<p>\"Maybe the bomb cases have been difficult to unveil because<br>\nelements of the state's security are implicated in this terror.<br>\nThis includes the military, whose Strategic Army Reserves Command<br>\n(Kostrad) and Special Force Command (Kopassus) are keen to create<br>\ncertain conditions in society,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The terror is part of a military intelligence operation,<br>\nwhich has taken advantage of the current transition period. The<br>\nbomb terror will not stop until it reaches its target,\" he noted.<\/p>\n<p>But Kopassus spokesman Capt. Farid Makruf dismissed the<br>\ninvolvement of the military in the bomb terror, saying that<br>\ncivilians can find out how to assemble a bomb from the Internet.<br>\n(bby)<\/p>",
