The Regional Police Commander (Kapolda) of East Java, Inspector\nGeneral Nanang Avianto, directly monitored the crime scene investigation\nat an explosion that occurred at a mosque in the Pesona Raya Regency\nhousing complex in Patrang District, Jember Regency, East Java.<\/p>\n
He was accompanied by the Jember Police Chief, Senior Commissioner\nBobby Adimas Condroputra, as he oversaw the area surrounding the mosque\nwhere the East Java Regional Police Bomb Disposal Team (Jibom Gegana)\nwas conducting the investigation. However, he did not provide official\nstatements regarding the explosion at the mosque in the Pesona Raya\nRegency housing complex in Patrang District.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Head of Criminal Investigation at Jember Police,\nCommissioner Angga Riatma, stated that police immediately sterilised the\nexplosion site by installing police cordons and conducting a crime scene\ninvestigation to determine the cause of the blast.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe cannot yet conclude the cause of the explosion, and the Jibom\n(bomb disposal) team from East Java Regional Police is still\ninvestigating at the mosque in the Pesona Raya Regency housing complex,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
There were no fatalities, though one worshipper was taken to the\nemergency ward at Dr Soebandi Hospital in Jember after reportedly\nsuffering ear disturbance following the loud explosion.<\/p>\n
The explosion is believed to have originated from an unused cabinet\nnear the male ablution area of the mosque, though eyewitness accounts\nmention an iron plate in the vicinity of the blast site. The Jember\nPolice Department installed cordons around the mosque to prevent\nresidents from approaching the location, whilst the East Java Regional\nPolice Bomb Disposal Team worked to investigate the cause of the\npowerful explosion.<\/p>\n
