        "content": "<p>As a manifestation of safeguarding the nation\u2019s energy resilience, PT\nPerusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) through PT Gagas Energi\nIndonesia (Gagas) is committed to continuously optimising Bahan Bakar\nGas (BBG) services for vehicles. Technically, BBG can serve as an\nalternative energy source while becoming a new standard that supports\noptimal vehicle engine performance and is environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n<p>Several advantages of BBG are attracting attention in the automotive\nsector. BBG contains a high octane value (Research Octane Number\/RON) in\nthe range of 120 to 130. This allows engines to operate with a higher\ncompression ratio, thereby increasing thermal efficiency optimally.<\/p>\n<p>As a fuel whose main component is methane (CH4), the combustion of\nBBG in engines is more complete and environmentally friendly. BBG\nproduces about 20% lower carbon emissions compared to petroleum-based\nfuels (BBM) and leaves no residue on engine components. With optimal\nbenefits for the engine, the use of BBG can make engines last longer and\nreduce maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles using BBG employ special tanks that hold up to 15 litres of\ngas per tank. BBG tanks are designed to high safety standards. In the\nevent of a leak, the gas will immediately rise and dissipate in the air,\nthus preventing explosions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public need not worry about safety aspects, as the installation\nof every converter kit and BBG tank follows international safety\nstandards by competent experts,\u201d explained Gagas Operations and\nCommercial Director Maisalina.<\/p>\n<p>The average BBG consumption for private vehicles is 10 litres\nequivalent to Pertalite (LSP) per day, taxis 20 LSP\/day, bajaj and\nangkot 15\u201320 LSP\/day. For trucks or buses, the average consumption is\n125\u2013165 LSP\/day. For 1 LSP usage, it can cover up to 10 km.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBBG prices are also stable at Rp4,500 per LSP, very affordable\nbecause the gas source comes from domestic sources. With many benefits\nthat can be felt, we hope interest in BBG will increase further. As part\nof Pertamina\u2019s Gas Subholding, we are also continuously strengthening\ncapabilities so that BBG services become more extensive and optimal as a\nreliable fuel solution for the public in various regions,\u201d Maisalina\nconcluded.<\/p>\n<p>BBG can be converted for several types of dedicated BBG fuel vehicles\nand vehicles using a dual fuel system, where a converter kit is\ninstalled as a switch so that vehicles can alternate between BBG and\nBBM. This system can also extend the vehicle\u2019s range. Currently, BBG is\nwidely used by conventional taxis, online taxis, bajaj, private\nvehicles, angkot, and TransJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Gagas has partnered with the Mobil Gas Community (Komogas), which\nplays an important role in building the BBG ecosystem in Indonesia.\nThrough this partnership, Gagas also ensures that BBG infrastructure and\nservices are relevant to the public. One concrete step is the launch of\nmobile BBG workshops along with education on safety and efficiency of\nBBG usage.<\/p>\n<p>Komogas Chairman Andy Lala explained that BBG is chosen by community\nmembers due to rising BBM prices, cleaner combustion chambers, and\nlimited budgets for purchasing new electric vehicles, making BBG an\naffordable and efficient solution. Therefore, Komogas hopes that support\nfor BBG vehicles will be strengthened, including the availability of\neasily accessible specialised BBG workshops, such as the Mobile BBG\nWorkshop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe existence of the Mobile BBG Workshop is very beneficial because\nit facilitates maintenance and repairs for BBG vehicles, reduces\ndifficulties in finding specialised workshops, and helps maintain\ndrivers\u2019 working time,\u201d Andy explained.
