        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - To commemorate Earth Day while welcoming Vesak\nDay, a thematic programme titled \u201cDiscover The Natural Treasures:\nTernate &amp; Tidore\u201d is being held for over a month, from 20 April to\n31 May 2026, with the main theme of harmony between humans, nature, and\nculture.<\/p>\n<p>The event at Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta offers a comprehensive\nexperience combining elements of history, culture, cuisine, and\ninvestment opportunities from North Maluku.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this activity, we hope not only to increase tourist visits\nbut also to attract investors to see the great potential possessed by\nTernate and Tidore,\u201d said Mayor of Ternate M Tauhid Soleman in his\nstatement in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Tidore Ahmad Laiman highlighted the\nimportance of maintaining a balance between economic development and\nenvironmental preservation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTidore has vast forest areas and rich biodiversity that must be\nprotected as an alternative to the exploitation of natural resources,\u201d\nsaid Laiman.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, Director of Marketing Communication at Hotel\nBorobudur Karina Eva Poetry revealed that the programme is part of a\nsustainable initiative to support Indonesian tourism through cultural,\neducational, and creative economy approaches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this programme, we want to invite the public to better\nunderstand Indonesia\u2019s wealth, not only as a tourist destination but\nalso as a source of cultural inspiration and life values,\u201d said\nKarina.<\/p>\n<p>Through a diverse and meaningful series of activities, \u201cDiscover The\nNatural Treasures: Ternate &amp; Tidore\u201d embodies real synergy between\ncultural preservation, tourism development, and environmental care in\ndriving regional economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a talkshow session is held to discuss the history of\nthe spice route, its connection to cultural heritage, and the spiritual\nvalues of Borobudur Temple as a world heritage site.<\/p>\n<p>During the programme, visitors can enjoy various interesting agendas,\none of which is the Ternate &amp; Tidore Culinary Presentation at Bogor\nCafe, available every working day. Spice-based buffet dishes are\nprepared directly by cooks from the region, offering authentic flavours\nstarting from Rp498,000 per person.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there are other activities such as the Business &amp;\nInvestment Forum on 24 April, cultural and spice route history\ndiscussions, Diaspora Youth Gathering on 26 April, and the Ternate &amp;\nTidore People\u2019s Festival scheduled for 24 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Earth Day environmental campaign, the programme also\nfeatures the performance \u201cMermaid &amp; Merman Indonesia: The Spirit of\nthe Archipelago,\u201d a collaboration with Yayasan El John Indonesia. This\nperformance carries a strong message about the importance of preserving\nIndonesia\u2019s seas and maritime ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p>Towards the closing of the event series, in the spirit of Vesak, a\nmeditation activity is held on 7 June 2026, in collaboration with\nYayasan Ehipassiko.
