Experts suggest that advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) will broaden access for developing nations to the rocket and space industry, potentially democratising a sector long dominated by advanced economies. Aviation observer Stan Rudenko highlighted this during the Make It In The Emirates 2026 event in Abu Dhabi, emphasising AI's role in enhancing efficiency in engineering and development processes. For countries like Indonesia building their national aerospace foundations, AI-driven computational engineering and automation offer opportunities to accelerate design and innovation compared to traditional methods.",

AI technology is even said to
have the potential to democratise the development of aerospace
technology, which has long been dominated by advanced nations.

That view was expressed by aviation observer Stan Rudenko at the Make
It In The Emirates (MIITE) 2026 event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab
Emirates, on Saturday (9/5/2026).

According to Stan, the integration of AI in engineering and
technology development processes will make innovations in the rocket and
space sector more open and efficient.

However, he said, practical experience remains an important factor
that cannot be replaced by technology. “I believe AI will greatly
democratise the building of new technologies. But at the same time,
emerging markets still need people with real experience in building and
operating systems as advanced as rockets and space vehicles,” he stated
in a press release.

Stan explained that the presence of AI can be a major opportunity for
countries like Indonesia, which are still building the foundations of
their national aerospace industry. With the support of AI-based
computational engineering and automation, the design and technology
development processes can be carried out more quickly than conventional
approaches.
",
