        "content": "<p>Jakarta - The Head of the Center for Sharia Economic Development\n(CSED) at the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance\n(INDEF), Nur Hidayah, stated that the development of the sharia economy\nin Indonesia must be oriented towards value creation in order to be\nglobally competitive. \u201cIndonesia\u2019s sharia economic potential is large\nbut has not been maximised,\u201d Nur Hidayah said in Jakarta on Tuesday\nduring a National Seminar titled \u201cMid-Year Notes on the Indonesian\nSharia Economy 2026\u201d. According to her, a study conducted by INDEF found\nthat Indonesia\u2019s sharia economic potential is very significant,\nespecially as Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim\npopulation in the world. Therefore, based on the research findings,\nsharia economic development must shift its orientation from mere growth\nto value creation. Moreover, Nur Hidayah noted that the domestic halal\nmarket is also extensive, the growth of sharia financial assets\ncontinues to show an increase, and there is strong regulatory support\nfrom the government. \u201cAll of this potential must be maximised so that\nthe existing potential can be converted into global competitiveness,\u201d\nshe said. Nur Hidayah added that the \u201cvalue-based economy\u201d approach and\nthe practice of \u201cvalue-based intermediation\u201d emphasise that the success\nof the sharia economy is measured by its contribution to public welfare,\nenvironmental sustainability, and real sector development, not just the\nsize of assets or profits.
