Jakarta (ANTARA) - Criminal law expert Abdul Fickar Hadjar has asked\nthe prosecutor\u2019s office not to hesitate in examining all parties\nconnected to the alleged corruption in the renovation of the ground\nfloor of the Cipta Karya Building at the Ministry of Public Works.<\/p>\n
The examination must reach officials who knew about or were\nresponsible for the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the event is already clear, then it is determined who the suspect\nis, namely the person most responsible for the state losses that arose\nand who enjoyed them,\u201d said Fickar in a statement in Jakarta on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
He therefore urged that an investigation be carried out immediately\nto confirm that the corruption incident did indeed occur.<\/p>\n
If the criminal act of corruption is confirmed, he continued, the\ncase can be escalated to a full investigation to obtain statements from\nwitnesses and collect related documents or items.<\/p>\n
Once the case structure has been established, Fickar said\ninvestigators must seek the party most responsible for the state losses.\nThe naming of a suspect must be supported by sufficient evidence.<\/p>\n
In this case, the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor\u2019s Office has detained\nan official from the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Cipta\nKarya.<\/p>\n
The name of Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti has\nalso come under scrutiny because she served as Director General of Cipta\nKarya when the 2023 fiscal year project was carried out.<\/p>\n
However, Diana, as Director General of Cipta Karya at the time the\nproject was running, has never been asked for information.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll related parties, including the secretary of the directorate\ngeneral, the director general, the deputy minister, or even the minister\nhimself if he indeed knew in the sense of seeing, hearing, feeling, or\nperhaps even participated,\u201d said the Trisakti University Faculty of Law\nlecturer.<\/p>\n
Fickar thus stressed that the status of deputy minister does not make\nsomeone immune from legal process.<\/p>\n
If investigators have obtained at least two pieces of evidence, he\ncontinued, a summons and even the naming of a suspect against someone\ncan be carried out.<\/p>\n
The case relates to alleged corruption in fictitious projects within\nthe Secretariat of the Directorate General of Cipta Karya for the\n2023\u20132025 period.<\/p>\n
Previously, the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor\u2019s Office had named and\ndetained a new suspect with the initials JND in connection with alleged\ncorruption in the implementation of routine spending at the Secretariat\nof the Directorate General of Cipta Karya of the Ministry of Public\nWorks for the 2023\u20132024 period in Jakarta on Monday (6\/7).<\/p>\n
JND is the Director of PT CV Asaykhana as well as the controller of a\nnumber of companies, including CV Nalisa Destia, CV Mila Kirana, CV\nRaflindo Pratama, PT Atrindo Prima Persada, CV Nursa Lima, CV Zafran\nKarya Utama, CV Azio Osaka and CV Ardian Permata Indah.<\/p>\n
