        "content": "<p>Expensive masks<\/p>\n<p>From Neraca<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Forum for Environment (Walhi)) has appealed to<br>\nthe community to show consideration to fellow countrymen who have<br>\nbeen hit by the haze disaster in the provinces. The forum has<br>\ninvited communities in big cities to donate money to help<br>\npurchase face masks which will be distributed free to the poor.<\/p>\n<p>The masks function to filter pollution from the air people<br>\nbreathe and are badly needed by people affected by the disaster.<br>\nUnfortunately, the price of masks has sharply increased.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to appeal to other organizations to take similar<br>\nsteps, e.g. the organization of pharmaceutics producers (GP<br>\nFarmasi). This organization certainly understands fully the need<br>\nfor medicine to alleviate respiratory tract problems.<\/p>\n<p>GP Farmasi has so far shown no inclination to help out. It has<br>\napparently not tried to prevent the increase in mask prices.<\/p>\n<p>I am also afraid there are people who use the situation to<br>\nmake big profits on the sale of medicine and masks.<\/p>\n<p>I hope that GP Farmasi will take concrete action by sending a<br>\nteam to alleviate the sufferings of those hit by the haze these<br>\npast few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>It would be praiseworthy if some members of the organization<br>\noffered special prices for the masks.
