        "content": "<p>KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, stated that\nKCIC is continuously strengthening the implementation of more\nsustainable energy to support the operations of the Whoosh high-speed\ntrain. In addition to using electricity for passenger services, KCIC is\nexpanding the use of renewable energy through the application of B40\nbiodiesel in diesel-based work trains used for the inspection,\nmaintenance, and upkeep of Whoosh infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe use of B40 biodiesel in work trains is one of KCIC\u2019s steps to\nreduce fossil fuel consumption while increasing the use of more\nenvironmentally friendly energy in the operational support activities of\nWhoosh,\u201d Eva said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday\n(31\/07\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Eva explained that B40 biodiesel consists of 40 per cent palm\noil-based biofuel and 60 per cent diesel, in accordance with the\nMinister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 32 of 2008\nregarding the Provision, Utilisation, and Trade of Biofuels as\nAlternative Fuels. While the public recognises Whoosh as an\nelectric-powered high-speed train, KCIC is extending its commitment to\nsustainability to its operational support facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, the spirit of sustainability is present not only in\npassenger services but also in supporting operational activities. KCIC\noperates various work trains to support the inspection, maintenance, and\nupkeep of Whoosh infrastructure. These vehicles are used to monitor\ntrack conditions and geometry, perform rail inspections, support the\nmaintenance of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS), and transport\npersonnel, equipment, and materials required for maintenance work. All\ndiesel-based work trains are currently using B40 biodiesel.<\/p>\n<p>Eva noted that the use of biodiesel increases the utilisation of\nenergy based on renewable resources while reducing fossil fuel use in\ninfrastructure maintenance. Looking ahead, she added that KCIC is\nprepared to support the implementation of B50 in accordance with\ngovernment policy, following the necessary testing processes and\napplicable regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIncreasing the biodiesel blend is expected to further strengthen the\ntransport sector\u2019s contribution to supporting the national energy\ntransition,\u201d she said. Eva added that KCIC supports various government\npolicies in promoting the use of cleaner energy, noting that the\nimplementation of B40 biodiesel is a tangible step being taken\ncurrently. \u201cIn the future, we are ready to support the implementation of\nB50 in line with government policy after undergoing testing and meeting\napplicable regulations, while continuing to prioritise safety, equipment\nreliability, and operational readiness.\u201d<\/p>",
