Expanding Internationally, PGE Explores Geothermal Technology in the\nPhilippines<\/p>\n
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE)\nhas begun a series of global roadshows by exploring the application of\nFlow2Max technology at the geothermal field owned by Energy Development\nCorporation (EDC) in the Philippines. This is aimed at opening up new\nsources of revenue through the commercialisation of innovation.<\/p>\n
PGE visited EDC\u2019s wet steam field, the largest in the world, in\nLeyte, Philippines, to discuss the implementation of the Flow2Max\ntechnology innovation. This is also an effort by the company to\nstrengthen the global geothermal development services ecosystem.<\/p>\n
PGE\u2019s Manager of Production & Optimization Excellence, Mohamad\nHusni Mubarok, explained that the visit aimed to expand international\ncollaboration and the implementation of PGE\u2019s technology. He appreciated\nthe positive response from EDC, which he said has a great reputation in\nthe global geothermal industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to introduce PGE\u2019s superheated steam management\ntechnology innovation to one of the largest and most reputable\ngeothermal companies in the world. Moreover, the Philippines is\ncurrently ranked third in the world in terms of geothermal capacity\nafter the United States and Indonesia,\u201d said Mohamad Husni in the\ncompany\u2019s information disclosure, Wednesday (25\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
During the meeting, both parties discussed technical aspects and\nprice negotiations before entering the manufacturing stage.<\/p>\n
The Flow2Max technology is a two-phase flow meter that monitors fluid\nflow in real-time to predict well productivity more accurately. The\ninitial installation of this technology at EDC\u2019s field is targeted for\ncompletion in June 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that the implementation of Flow2Max technology can support\noperational optimisation, increase production efficiency, and strengthen\nEDC\u2019s sustainable reservoir management,\u201d added Mohamad Husni.<\/p>\n
PGE has partnered with PT Sigma Cipta Utama (SCU), a subsidiary of PT\nElnusa Tbk, in this business visit.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, EDC\u2019s Head of Geothermal Technology and\nInnovation, Erlindo Angcoy Jr., expressed his interest because the\ntechnology is considered suitable for optimising the performance of\ngeothermal wells in their fields.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PGE\u2019s Manager of Operations, Asset Management &\nOptimisation, Jati Permana Kurniawan, reaffirmed the company\u2019s long-term\ncommitment to continue driving progress in this sector. This\ncollaboration is expected to include not only the implementation of the\ntechnology but also the exchange of technical knowledge.<\/p>\n
