Serang (ANTARA) - Banten Governor Andra Soni received an award as a\nregional head who cares and focuses on improving education and public\nservices at the Koordinatoriat Wartawan Parlemen (KWP) Awards 2026 in\nJakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Through his statement in Serang on Thursday, Andra Soni said that the\neducation sector is one of the priority programmes during his\nleadership. This has been outlined in the Regional Medium-Term\nDevelopment Plan (RPJMD) 2025-2030 to create superior human resources\n(SDM) and to open up education access as widely as possible for the\npeople of Banten.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank you, the efforts that have been made have received\nappreciation from our KWP colleagues,\u201d said Andra after receiving the\naward, which was directly handed over by KWP Chairman Ariawan at the\nGedung Pustakaloka Nusantara 4 DPR\/MPR RI building on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He explained that since taking office as governor, his side has\nimplemented a policy of free private schooling for high school (SMA),\nvocational high school (SMK), and special education school (SKh) levels.\nThis year, the tuition fee exemption programme will be expanded to cover\nprivate Madrasah Aliyah (MA) levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis award becomes our motivation to remain consistent, to continue\nopening up equitable education access for school-age children in\nBanten,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThus, by strengthening education access, Banten will advance\nfurther, with equitable distribution and no corruption,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The KWP Awards 2026 is an annual award from journalists assigned to\nparliament. The assessment is based on objective and professional\nreviews by panellists over the past year. In addition to the Banten\nGovernor, awards in various categories were also given to six other\nregional heads in Indonesia, DPR and MPR leaders, DPD, party factions,\nlegislators, as well as ministries and institutions.<\/p>\n
KWP Awards 2026 Executive Chairman Sofyan said that this appreciation\nis given for the dedication and contributions of state organisers in\naddressing various issues in the midst of society.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand that fieldwork is full of challenges. Therefore,\nthrough objective assessments from the jury board from various\nprofessional backgrounds, we give appreciation for such high\ndedication,\u201d said Sofyan.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Executive Director of Skala Survei Indonesia (SSI) and KWP\nAward Panellist Chairman Abdul Hakim assessed that this award is\nimportant to honour figures who work with full devotion, oriented\ntowards success, but not always in the spotlight.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see many aspects that are not much highlighted but play a very\nlarge role in maintaining national stability. Behind every harmony,\nthere is unshowcased sacrifice.
