Excelcomindo to provide wireless Net<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): PT Excelcomindo, Indonesia's third largest
\nmobile carrier, will use the Openwave (TM) Mobile Access Gateway
\nto provide the first wireless Internet service in Indonesia on
\nits GSM networks using a complete solution comprised of all WAP-
\nbased infrastructure components and applications.<\/p>\n
Openwave Systems Inc., the worldwide leader of open IP-based
\ncommunications infrastructure software and applications,
\nannounced on Thursday that the new service, branded as "proXL
\nW@P," enables Excelcomindo's excelcom(TM) subscribers to access a
\nbroad range of WAP-based wireless Internet services, including
\nemail, personal information management services, such as personal
\norganizers and calendaring functions, as well as sports scores,
\nweather forecasts and driving directions.<\/p>\n
The service also provides such localized content as financial
\nnews through IndoExchange and Makindo CyberTrade, search
\ncapabilities through LycosAsia and Yahoo!, travel and reservation
\nservices through Trvlwap.com, package tracking services through
\nDHL and FedEx, and entertainment information, the California-
\nbased company said in a statement.<\/p>\n
