        "content": "<p>Infrastructure for charging electric vehicles (EVs) continues to\ndevelop rapidly in Asia, in line with the rising use of new energy\nvehicles (NEVs) and commitments to a clean energy transition. China\nrecords significant national expansion of its charging network, while\nIndonesia accelerates the construction of Public Electric Vehicle\nCharging Stations (SPKLUs) to support domestic electric vehicle\ngrowth.<\/p>\n<p>China leads with the world\u2019s largest EV charging network. The EV\ncharging network in China continues to grow rapidly in 2026, with the\nnumber of charging connectors reaching 20.7 million by the end of\nJanuary, according to official data.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from China\u2019s National Energy Administration (NEA),\nthis figure shows a sharp 49.6 percent increase from the previous year.\nOf the total, about 4.8 million are public charging facilities, while\nthe remaining 15.9 million are private charging facilities. Both figures\nrose by 31.2 percent and 56.1 percent year-on-year, the data\nreveals.<\/p>\n<p>Zhang Xing, an official from China\u2019s NEA, stated at a press\nconference that the growth of the charging network aligns with the\nincreasing popularity of NEVs among the Chinese public. The expansion of\nthese facilities also occurs along the national toll road network,\nbroadening access for users with long-distance travel needs.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese government has also launched the EV Charging\nInfrastructure Action Plan 2025-2027, aiming to achieve 28 million\ncharging facilities with public charging capacity exceeding 300 million\nkilowatts by the end of 2027. This target seeks to accommodate demand\nfrom more than 80 million electric vehicles in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Indonesia, EV charging infrastructure development also\nshows significant acceleration alongside the rising number of electric\nvehicles. According to PT PLN (Persero), the number of SPKLUs in\nIndonesia increased from around 1,081 units in 2023 to 3,233 units in\n2024, a 299 percent year-on-year rise.<\/p>\n<p>The number of home charging services (HCS) facilities also surged\nfrom around 9,393 units to 28,356 units. Huawei\u2019s advanced FusionCharge\ntechnology enables the ZORA Signature SPKLU to deliver energy flexibly\nfrom the main electricity grid or integrated clean energy sources via a\nbattery energy storage system and operates optimally in all weather\nconditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis collaboration shows that by joining hands, the direction of\nelectric vehicle transformation to support decarbonisation in the\ntransportation sector is not impossible for us to achieve.
