        "content": "<p>EU anti-dumping on RI<\/p>\n<p>BRUSSELS (AFP): The European Union applied anti-dumping duties<br>\nto bicycles imported from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand<br>\nyesterday, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The duties would be enforced initially for four months and<br>\nranged from 13. 2 to 48.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Ministers of the European Union (EU) would decide on the final<br>\nrate of duty. Some bicycles imported from China have attracted<br>\ndumping duties since September 1993.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation was opened in February 1994 because the three<br>\ncountries had increased their share of the EU market to 6.8<br>\npercent in 1993 when three EU manufacturers had gone bankrupt.<\/p>\n<p>The duties applied to bicycles made in Indonesia range from 22<br>\npercent to 29 percent but products from the Insera Sana company<br>\nwere exempted.<\/p>",
