Amidst the\nrising trend of Indonesian students pursuing international studies and\nscholarship programmes, academic English proficiency remains a primary\npillar of global academic mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The primary focus of the meeting was the introduction of the 202_6\nTOEFL iBT updates. These innovations are designed to align more closely\nwith the increasingly digital and collaborative developments in the\neducational world. Significant changes include an adaptive test design\nand a sharper focus on authentic communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>Sidnei De Souza, Executive Director of Global Partnerships and Sales\nManagement at ETS, emphasised that assessments must adapt quickly to the\nrapid evolution of human communication. \u201cThrough the 2026 TOEFL iBT\nupdates, we are providing an assessment experience that reflects how\nstudents learn and interact in today\u2019s academic environments,\u201d De Souza\nstated in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Diana Kartika, Executive Director of IIEF, highlighted that English\ncertification now serves an expanding role in Indonesia.
