The Indonesian Police's Traffic Corps will deploy the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) Drone Presisi during Operation Ketupat 2026 to monitor Eid al-Fitr mudik and balik traffic in real time, focusing on toll roads and high-density hotspots including rest areas and toll gates, with possible deployment in Malang Raya and Bali. The drone will provide real-time aerial traffic imagery, count traffic, and track flow shifts, and will be linked to the Korlantas Command Center; electronic enforcement remains non-priority for this operation.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian Police’s Traffic Corps
(Korlantas) is employing the Precision Electronic Traffic Law
Enforcement (ETLE) Drone to monitor the flow of Eid al-Fitr 2026 mudik
and balik. The technology will be operated during Operation Ketupat 2026
to ensure traffic conditions on several toll roads and high-density
hotspots can be monitored in real time.

The move is led by Chief of the Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus
Suryonugroho, who said the technology has undergone pilot testing before
broad deployment.

“The ETLE drone has indeed undergone trials; specifically during
Operation Ketupat, we will use it to monitor areas prone to congestion
and slowdown, at toll junctions, rest areas, toll gates, possibly in
Malang Raya and Bali,” Agus said in a written statement on Wednesday, 4
March 2026.

One of the main advantages of the ETLE Drone is its ability to
provide a quick and comprehensive view of traffic conditions from the
air.

“In addition, we will observe traffic counting, whether on the tol,
at rest areas; the drone will also monitor shifts in vehicle flow. So
there will be advisories from Korlantas, odd-even restrictions, and we
will conduct air surveillance,” Agus said.

This technology also has the capability to enforce the law
electronically. However, during Operation Ketupat 2026, that function is
not a priority.

In operation, aerial surveillance will target several strategic
points along the mudik routes. Some of them are at KM 29, KM 81, and
along from KM 70 to KM 414.

The drone will operate mobile and be directly connected to the
Korlantas Polri Command Center.

“In addition to the Command Center, we will monitor the situation in
real time; the ETLE drone can provide a real-time snapshot of the
situation at that moment,” he said.
",
