        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has stated that\nShell\u2019s fuel stations are once again selling diesel because they are\npurchasing it from Pertamina. \u201cThat is a collaboration with Pertamina\nthat we initiated and facilitated yesterday,\u201d said the Director General\nof Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman,\nwhen met at the Ministry of ESDM office in Jakarta on Wednesday. Shell\u2019s\nfuel stations had experienced a shortage of fuel stocks since the\nbeginning of 2026, while other private fuel stations had already begun\nselling fuel normally. Then, on 9 May 2026, Shell Indonesia\u2019s management\nannounced that diesel was available again at Shell stations after\nshortages since the beginning of 2026, priced at Rp30,890 per litre.\n\u201cAlhamdulillah, now there is already a collaboration with Pertamina so\nthey can start again,\u201d said Laode. Meanwhile, for other private fuel\nstations such as bp and Vivo, Laode said he had facilitated meetings for\npurchasing diesel from Pertamina. \u201cActually, that\u2019s the direction we\u2019re\nheading. In February 2026,\nthe Ministry of ESDM stated that private fuel station management\ncompanies would use domestic diesel purchased from Pertamina starting in\nApril 2026. The requirement to\npurchase diesel from Pertamina follows the Refinery Development Master\nPlan (RDMP) at Refinery Unit V in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The\nBalikpapan RDMP enables the refinery to process up to 360,000 barrels\nper day. That capacity is equivalent to 22-25 percent or a quarter of\nnational needs. Economically, the Balikpapan RDMP will have a\nsignificant impact on national energy independence, with savings on fuel\nimports of up to Rp68 trillion per year, and a contribution to the\nnational GDP of Rp514 trillion.
