        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has recorded that\nthe National Strategic Project (PSN) for the Dumai-Sei Mangkei (Dusem)\nNatural Gas Transmission Pipeline infrastructure, Segment 2, has reached\n32 percent completion as of the end of July 2026. \u201cAlhamdulillah, the\nfield progress for Segment 2 has now reached 32 percent,\u201d said the\nDirector General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman,\nin an official statement accessed from Jakarta on Thursday. He stated\nthat this achievement exceeded the target from the previously planned\nschedule and affirmed that the Ministry of ESDM continues to oversee the\nacceleration of this infrastructure development. This acceleration, he\nadded, is part of the government\u2019s commitment to strengthening the\nintegration of the national natural gas infrastructure. \u201cEqually\nimportant, this achievement was attained while recording 300,000 safe\nworking hours without work accidents, involving approximately 447\nskilled workers in the field,\u201d Laode said. The Dusem Natural Gas\nTransmission Pipeline infrastructure is planned to be built stretching\nfrom SKG Belawan to the Duri Facility, with a total length of\napproximately 535.4 kilometres, and is targeted for construction\ncompletion by the end of 2027 to early 2028. The gas pipeline\ntransmission work is divided into two segments and is being carried out\nin parallel. Segment 1 connects Belawan to the Labuhan Batu Station, and\nSegment 2 connects the Labuhan Batu Station to the Duri Facility. \u201cWe\nextend our highest appreciation to all lines of the team, contractors,\nand workers involved for their dedication and hard work in overseeing\nthis vital project,\u201d Laode said. While appreciating the positive trend\nin progress deviation, Laode took the opportunity to remind all parties\ninvolved in this project not to become complacent. He stressed that\nphysical acceleration must not sacrifice safety aspects and the\ntechnical quality of the work. During the review, he specifically\nhighlighted the open cut work, which is one of the most crucial stages\nin the installation of the gas transmission pipeline. \u201cThis depth\nstandard is important not only for the long-term safety of the pipeline\nbut also as a crucial point during technical feasibility tests and\ninspection audits by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK),\u201d Laode said.\nThe construction of the Dusun Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline\nrepresents the government\u2019s tangible commitment to encouraging the\noptimisation of national natural gas utilisation.
