        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has recorded that\ndistribution of 50 percent biodiesel (B50) fuel stood in the range of\n75-80 percent as of 31 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe position is between 75-80 percent in terms of total\ndistribution. But Pertamina petrol stations are already at 90 percent,\u201d\nsaid Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation\n(EBTKE) at the Ministry of ESDM, Eniya Listiani Dewi, after a working\nmeeting with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives\n(DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, 31\nAugust 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Eniya said the Ministry of ESDM continues to supervise the\ndistribution of B50.<\/p>\n<p>The government, she added, is committed to increasing monitoring and\nevaluation, as the programme is intended to be executed carefully.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of ESDM is targeting B50 distribution at all petrol\nstations to be fully realised by 1 October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, we will see in another month. We will continue to carry out\nsupervision,\u201d Eniya said.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia officially implemented the B50 biodiesel mandate in July\n2026 as an effort to reduce carbon emissions and achieve national energy\nsecurity.<\/p>\n<p>According to information from the Ministry of ESDM, the\nimplementation of B50 in 2026 is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas\nemissions by up to approximately 44.46 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent.\nThis figure is higher than the foreign exchange savings and emission\nreductions achieved under the B40 programme in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>With the launch of the B50 mandate, Indonesia is recorded as the\nfirst country in the world to implement a 50 percent biodiesel blending\nrequirement in diesel fuel, continuing the series of B30, B35, and B40\nbiodiesel programmes that have been running for more than a decade.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to reducing carbon emissions, the B50 mandate is also\nprojected to save the country approximately Rp170 trillion in foreign\nexchange in 2026, increase the added value of crude palm oil (CPO), and\nabsorb around 2.1 million workers.<\/p>",
