        "content": "<p>Es Teler opens in Malaysia<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Es Teler 77, a local fast food chain<br>\nspecializing in meatball soup and tropical fruit drinks, will<br>\nopen a franchise in Penang, Malaysia, in September following the<br>\nsuccess of its Singapore venture.<\/p>\n<p>A memorandum of understanding was signed on Aug. 16 by Es<br>\nTeler 77 founder Sukyatno Nugroho and Penang franchise-holders<br>\nPark Mei Yoke and Slew Swee Kit, the company announced on<br>\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, an outlet will open in the Malaysian<br>\nresort island at the end of September, and two more are set to<br>\noperate before the end of 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Sukyatno&apos;s first foreign franchise in Singapore was honored by<br>\nthe island-state&apos;s environment ministry for cleanliness and<br>\nhygiene in July.<\/p>\n<p>Sukyatno said he hoped to open an outlet in Brunei in<br>\nNovember.
