        "content": "<p>'Eradicating corruption a priority'<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The House of Representatives Commission II for<br>\ndomestic and legal affairs has urged Minister of Justice and<br>\nHuman Rights Yusril Ihza Mahendra to make setting laws to<br>\neradicate corruption his top priority.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a hearing with Yusril and his staff on Monday,<br>\ncommission chairman Teras Narang said the country's<br>\nanticorruption drive had failed to live up to public expectations<br>\ndue to weak legislation to cope with the crime.<\/p>\n<p>\"The commission expects the ministry, in accordance with its<br>\nauthority, to continuously and consistently try to realize a<br>\ntransparent judicial system which is needed to deal with<br>\ncorruption and human rights violations,\" Teras said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that a blend of professionalism and moral integrity<br>\nwas mandatory in the making of laws related to corruption<br>\neradication.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry is preparing 25 draft laws on legal and judicial<br>\naffairs. -- JP<\/p>",
