        "content": "<p>Inclusive, equitable, and fair healthcare services are a right for\nevery citizen. Achieving equal access to healthcare can only be\naccomplished through a strong commitment from local governments.<\/p>\n<p>Amidst complex geographical challenges, particularly on the island of\nSulawesi, distance and limited infrastructure must not be obstacles to\nproviding proper health rights to all members of society. Local\ngovernments cannot focus solely on developing medical facilities in\nurban areas; instead, they must ensure distribution by strengthening the\nfunctions of auxiliary community health centres (Puskesmas pembantu),\noptimising the Posyandu network, and providing mobile health fleets,\nsuch as mobile land-based and boat-based health units to serve coastal\nand island regions.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Outstanding\nLocal Government Awards were held to recognise regions deemed capable of\nexpanding healthcare access and maintaining its quality. These regions\nwere included in the awards under the \u2018Access and Quality of Healthcare\nServices\u2019 category.<\/p>\n<p>This category assesses the commitment and performance of local\ngovernments in improving public access to high-quality and easily\nreachable healthcare. The assessment covers healthcare access, National\nHealth Insurance (JKN) participation, proper sanitation, standardised\nhealth facilities, and free health check-ups. Regional innovation serves\nas an added value in delivering inclusive and impactful healthcare\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Outstanding Local Government\nAwards continue a series of appreciations previously held in various\nregions of Indonesia. Following the Sumatra Region in Batam, the Java\nand Bali Region in Bali, and the Kalimantan Region in Balikpapan, the\nseries proceeded to the Sulawesi Region.<\/p>\n<p>Several local governments in Sulawesi received recognition for the\nprogrammes and innovations they have implemented, including\nenvironmental management, improving access to healthcare and education,\nand providing decent housing for the community.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Outstanding Local Government\nAwards took place on Friday, 10 September 2026, at 19:00 WITA.
