Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Environment Minister, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, has\ncalled on mudik travellers to maintain environmental standards to ensure\nsafety and comfort for all, particularly at Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal\nin North Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is part of the President\u2019s instruction to all government\nagencies to ensure that mudik operations run optimally,\u201d the Environment\nMinister said in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He stated that the inspection was conducted to ensure travellers\nreceive comfort during their journeys.<\/p>\n
He also emphasised that mudik activities must not create\nenvironmental impacts, particularly concerning waste management.<\/p>\n
According to him, inspection results showed that cleanliness emerged\nas a primary concern.<\/p>\n
The Environment Minister assessed that waste issues at the terminal\narea still require swift action.<\/p>\n
He requested that supporting facilities be promptly provided by the\nNorth Jakarta City Administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis waste problem can actually be prevented. We are asking for\nfacilities to be immediately provided because this is something that\nmust be handled as quickly as possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also called for strong synergy between the central and regional\ngovernments, with the hope that this year\u2019s Lebaran mudik will not only\nrun smoothly.<\/p>\n
For this reason, he urged all parties to maintain cleanliness and\nenvironmental conservation at major transportation hubs such as Tanjung\nPriok Terminal.<\/p>\n
