Environment Minister and Head of the Environmental Control Agency\n(BPLH) Jumhur Hidayat has instructed senior ministry officials to\nimmediately carry out a comprehensive overhaul of the third-party debt\nadministration system, which is deemed inadequate.<\/p>\n
During a working meeting with House of Representatives Commission XII\nin Jakarta on Thursday, Jumhur stated that this internal reform measure\nis the ministry\u2019s rapid response to follow up on recommendations from\nthe Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).<\/p>\n
\u201cInstructing the Principal Secretary via memorandum to evaluate the\nfinancial management of the Ministry of Environment and ordering the\nHead of the Planning and Finance Bureau to carry out synchronisation,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
He explained that through the official memo, the Principal Secretary\nwas asked to move quickly to evaluate all financial governance, while\nthe Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau is required to carry out\nperiodic budget management synchronisation.<\/p>\n
In addition to financial sector arrangements, firm instructions were\nalso issued to the Principal Inspector via an official memorandum to\nimmediately formulate mechanisms and technical policies regarding\noversight within the ministry and the Environmental Control Agency.<\/p>\n
As part of strengthening governance in the field, the Head of the\nGeneral Bureau was also tasked with intensifying socialisation to all\nwork units regarding the division of responsibilities in the state\nbudget disbursement process.<\/p>\n
Jumhur emphasised that the synergy of arrangements between planning,\ndisbursement, and internal oversight aspects is expected to sustainably\nimprove the ministry\u2019s financial report opinion while preventing future\nbudget deviations.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo that is the action plan for the BPK recommendations that will be\nimplemented,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Environment Minister\u2019s report received appreciation from members\nof House Commission XII, who were also participants in the meeting, as\nit was deemed to provide a rapid response in following up on the BPK\u2019s\nfindings and recommendations for the 2025 fiscal year.<\/p>\n
Chairman of House Commission XII Bambang Patijaya said that the\nfindings presented in the BPK report, along with their recommendations,\nhad been directly addressed rigorously, complete with an action plan,\nand this was in accordance with regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it means that according to regulatory provisions, 60 days after\nthe submission of the BPK report to ministries and institutions, it must\nbe followed up.
