        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has\ndesignated 20 agglomeration areas across 47 districts and cities as\npriority investment zones for Waste-to-Electricity Processing (PSEL).\nHanif stated that President Prabowo Subianto has requested\nprioritisation of waste management in urban and agglomeration areas that\ngenerate more than 1,000 tons of waste per day for PSEL. This was\nconveyed during a joint press conference with the Minister of Investment\nand Downstreaming\/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, at the Danantara\nBuilding in Jakarta on Tuesday. \u201cThe Ministry of Environment (KLH) has\ndesignated 20 agglomerations across 47 districts and cities. Of these 20\nagglomerations, four have been completed by Danantara, the remaining 16\nare complete, and we will complete the others subsequently,\u201d he said.\nHanif explained that these 20 agglomeration areas have met the\nfirst-stage requirements and have received an official decree from the\nKLH. Meanwhile, for cities generating 500\u20131,000 tons of waste per day,\nthey do not meet the primary requirements of the Presidential Regulation\n(Perpres) that designates priority PSEL areas with waste generation\nexceeding 1,000 tons. To date, based on monitoring and evaluation by a\njoint team, there are seven agglomeration areas across 26 districts and\ncities generating 500\u20131,000 tons of waste per day. \u201cThe joint team has\nconfirmed their adequacy and compliance with requirements for PSEL\ndevelopment, so the Environment Minister has issued a recommendation\nletter. Why not a decree? Because under Perpres 109, PSEL may only be\nused in urban agglomerations generating 1,000 tons or more of waste per\nday,\u201d he said. He continued that there are still four agglomeration\nareas across 14 districts and cities in the verification stage that have\nnot yet received recommendations due to incomplete prerequisites.\nTherefore, Hanif stated that a total of 31 agglomeration areas across 86\ndistricts and cities have been submitted for PSEL investment follow-up.\n\u201cThe Ministry of Environment will continue to oversee the development\nand on-site management,\u201d he added. Meanwhile, Minister of Investment and\nDownstreaming\/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani stated that Danantara and KLH\nare continuously collaborating to invest in other potential technologies\nsupporting the PSEL programme. \u201cWe are open to other technologies, but\nimportantly, we prioritise technologies that have proven to work well in\nmany countries,\u201d Rosan said. Currently, the government is prioritising\nthat PSEL operations run smoothly, quickly, and most importantly, are\naccepted by the community, particularly in the areas where waste\nprocessing takes place.<\/p>",
