Entertainment spots closed for summit<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: At least 30 entertainment spots in Bandung city --
\nincluding pool halls and massage parlors -- have been closed
\nsince Friday as security was beefed up for the Asian-African
\nSummit.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, delegates from over 100 countries attending the
\nsummit assembled in Bandung to commemorate the 50th anniversary
\nof the original Asia-Africa Summit.<\/p>\n
However, the forced closure was lambasted by the owners of the
\nentertainment spots as security personnel apparently closed some
\nbut not others.<\/p>\n
\"Our place has been closed while others operate as usual,\"
\nsaid Enny, the owner of an entertainment spot on Jl. Braga in the
\ncity.<\/p>\n
Agus, an official from the Bandung Tourism Office, said the
\nentertainment spots near Gedung Merdeka where the delegates were
\nconvening had been closed since Friday evening.<\/p>\n
Dede, the owner of another entertainment spot in the city,
\ncomplained that government officials had suddenly closed his
\nestablishment without prior notice.<\/p>\n
\"Our guests were upset as they suddenly had to get out. They
\nhad no choice but to go to other places,\" said Dede. -- Antara<\/p>",
