Entertainment spot damaged<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): At least 1,000 residents of Ciledug district
\nhere attacked an entertainment spot on Thursday night because it
\nhad allegedly been used as a prostitution den.<\/p>\n
No fatalities were reported in the attack.<\/p>\n
Maryoto, one of the vandals, said the attack on the Medan
\nsinging hall and restaurant began at about 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
\"The attack was planned a long time ago by the residents who
\nwere disturbed by the existence of the entertainment spot,\"
\nMaryoto said on Friday.<\/p>\n
He said the residents had objected to the operator of the
\namusement spot but their complaint was ignored.<\/p>\n
\"We want the mayoralty to close down the entertainment spot
\nbecause it has been used as a prostitution den,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Tangerang Police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto deplored the
\nattack.<\/p>\n
\"The residents should have delivered their complaints to
\nofficials without damaging the spot,\" Pudji said. (41\/jun)<\/p>",
