        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, has\nintroduced transaction convenience through the BRI Debit Contactless\nMastercard, alongside a cashback promotion of Rp50,000 for selected\ncustomers upgrading their debit card. The programme, running from 21 May\nto 31 July 2026, is BRI\u2019s way of appreciating customers by providing a\nmore practical, secure, and widely usable transaction experience. With\ncontactless functionality, customers can make payments by simply tapping\nthe card on a contactless EDC machine, without inserting it. For certain\ntransaction amounts, payments can be made without entering a PIN,\nstreamlining the process and offering greater convenience, particularly\nfor highly mobile customers. The contactless PIN-free transaction limit\nis set at Rp1 million for domestic transactions and Rp3 million for\ninternational\/cross-border transactions. Should the transaction amount\nexceed this limit, customers can continue payment by entering a PIN via\nthe EDC machine using a chip-based card, as with standard card\ntransactions. BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny stated that the\nintroduction of the BRI Debit Contactless Mastercard is part of BRI\u2019s\nefforts to enhance customers\u2019 transaction experience, particularly for\nthose requiring broader payment network access, in line with\nincreasingly dynamic societal lifestyles. \u2018BRI continues to deliver\ntransaction solutions relevant to customer needs. Through the BRI Debit\nContactless Mastercard, we aim to provide a more convenient, swift,\nsecure, and widely accessible transaction experience, including when\ncustomers travel abroad or transact at global merchants,\u2019 Dhanny said.\nThe convenience offered by the BRI Debit Contactless Mastercard is\nbalanced by robust security measures, a top priority. BRI\u2019s contactless\nservice is supported by multi-layered protection, including Near Field\nCommunication (NFC) technology that restricts transactions to very close\nproximity, transaction amount limits, data encryption, and real-time\nmonitoring by the bank\u2019s systems.
