        "content": "<p>English debate on the death sentence<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): An English debate will take place at the<br>\nUniversity of Indonesia campus in Depok next week.<\/p>\n<p>Called the Jakarta Varsities English Debate, it has been<br>\norganized by the Local Committee of the Brussels-based<br>\nAssociation Internationale des Etudiantes en Sciences et<br>\nCommerciales (AIESEC) of the University of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve teams from four universities and an institute will take<br>\npart in the preliminary rounds on April 6, while the semi-finals<br>\nand finals will be held the next day.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists are scheduled to debate with Ascobat Gani, dean<br>\nof the School of Public Health of the University of Indonesia,<br>\nand Amir Santosa, a lecturer at the School of Political and<br>\nSocial Sciences, with capital punishment as the topic.<\/p>\n<p>All debates will be held at the School of Economy&apos;s auditorium<br>\nand are open to the public, according to the project officer,<br>\nIndah Iramadhini.<\/p>\n<p>AIESEC, an international organization for students interested<br>\nin economics and business, has 75,000 members from 750<br>\nuniversities throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>The debating teams are from the University of Indonesia, the<br>\nTrisakti University, the Tarumanegara University, the Malang-<br>\nbased University of Brawijaya and the Institute for the<br>\nDevelopment of Indonesian Professions.
