        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin has requested district\nofficials to step up patrols of empty homes during the Lebaran 2026\nhomecoming period to prevent potential criminal activity.<\/p>\n<p>The instruction was delivered by Munjirin to district chiefs to\ncoordinate with local security forces in their respective areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will emphasise again to the District Chiefs to coordinate at the\ndistrict level with the Police Precinct Commander and Territorial\nMilitary Command regarding patrols of vacant homes,\u201d said Munjirin at\nthe East Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office on Thursday, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, this measure is important because homes left empty\nby residents during the homecoming period often become targets for\ncriminal activity.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to requesting regular patrols, Munjirin also urged\nresidents planning to leave for the homecoming celebrations to ensure\ntheir homes are secure before departure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge the public who are conducting homecoming celebrations to\nensure that their homes are properly locked, electrical supply and fire\nsources are safe,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo conduct surveillance and monitoring of locations prone to brawls\nand other public order disturbances, and to urge residents regarding the\nprohibition on the use of firecrackers,\u201d said Munjirin.<\/p>\n<p>He also reminded his staff to maintain environmental cleanliness\nfollowing the Idul Fitri celebration series, including after the night\nof takbir and the Idul Fitri prayers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the implementation of takbir night and Idul Fitri prayers, I\nrequest the Head of the Environmental Sanitation Sub-Department,\nDistrict Chiefs, and Village Chiefs to ensure that the environment\nremains clean of rubbish so that the beauty of the city is maintained,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Zulkifli, Head of the Road Transport Terminal Management Unit (UPTAJ)\nof the Jakarta Transportation Office, stated that the first peak of the\nhomecoming exodus is estimated to occur on 13 March 2026, coinciding\nwith the start of the school holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the first peak of homecoming on 13 March because the school\nholiday begins.
