Embassy hosts conferences<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Canadian Embassy is organizing a series of
\nbusiness conferences next week to bolster trade and investment
\nrelations between the two countries in post-crisis Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The first conference will be held at the Regent Hotel in
\nJakarta on March 20-21 and the second at the Sahid Raya Hotel in
\nMakassar, South Sulawesi, on March 22-24, the embassy said in a
\nstatement on Friday.<\/p>\n
Sectoral issues including mining and energy, consulting
\nengineering and environment, informatics and telecommunications,
\nagribusiness and biotechnology, furniture, handicraft and textile
\nindustries will be covered in the conferences.<\/p>\n
Several Indonesian Cabinet ministers will join the sessions in
\nJakarta which will see participation of prominent Canadian and
\nIndonesian business people.<\/p>\n
To commemorate 50 years of relationships between the two
\ncountries, the Indonesian Canada Chamber of Commerce will launch
\na book entitled Canada Indonesia, Into the New Millennium and
\npresent Business Excellence Awards 2000 to Indonesian and
\nCanadian companies which have excelled over the last year. (07)<\/p>",
