Elon Musk stands to gain a massive compensation package from SpaceX, including 200 million restricted shares, if he successfully sends one million people to live permanently on Mars and boosts the company's valuation to $7.5 trillion. Additional shares could be awarded for developing a space-based data centre with 100 terawatts of computing power, equivalent to 100,000 nuclear reactors operating at full capacity. This ambitious incentive structure, revealed in SEC filings, underscores SpaceX's plans for a historic IPO in 2026 that could surpass previous records and kick off a wave of mega IPOs in the tech sector.

Elon Musk’s wealth could grow substantially. The individual with a
net worth of $815.6 billion (approximately Rp 14,173 trillion) according
to Forbes is promised a significant bonus if he realises the initiative
to establish a human civilisation on Mars.

SpaceX’s board of directors, the company owned by Musk, has promised
compensation in the form of 200 million restricted shares to Musk, but
only if he manages to send one million humans to live permanently on the
planet Mars.

Not only that, Musk must also increase SpaceX’s valuation to $7.5
trillion or equivalent to Rp 130,237 trillion. This figure is far beyond
the valuation target for SpaceX’s initial public offering (IPO) in the
future.

In addition to the 200 million restricted shares, Musk could
potentially receive another 60.4 million restricted shares if SpaceX
succeeds in operating a space-based data centre with a computing
capacity of 100 terawatts.

Gathered from Crypto Briefing, the power required for that is
equivalent to 100,000 one-gigawatt nuclear reactors operating at full
capacity simultaneously.

All these fantastically valuable bonus promises can only be obtained
if Musk successfully meets the conditions of each established
target.

The share awards will also be granted in stages along with the growth
in SpaceX’s valuation. These compensation promises are not bound by a
specific deadline.

This ambitious bonus enticement was revealed in secret documents
submitted by SpaceX to the United States Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC), as gathered by KompasTekno from Reuters.

The compensation plan also briefly emerged in public when SpaceX
submitted initial registration documents to US market regulators to
apply for an initial public offering (IPO).

Regarding the IPO, the hoped-for valuation target is touted to be the
largest in the history of the global capital market.

That figure even far exceeds the previous IPO record held by Saudi
Arabia’s oil and gas company, Saudi Aramco, with a value of around $29
billion (approximately Rp 490 trillion) in 2019.

This IPO is also expected to be the first in a wave of “mega IPOs”
from the technology sector in 2026, followed by AI companies OpenAI and
Anthropic, which have similar plans.
",
