Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2013 Billionaire Elon Musk boasted about\ncomparing the fruits of his labour to the miracles of Jesus Christ. He\nmade the remarks at a forum in Israel, in connection with Neuralink\u2019s\ndevelopments.<\/p>\n
Musk spoke about Neuralink via a video link at a forum in Israel. He\nargued that the technology being developed by Neuralink is\nunderappreciated.<\/p>\n
\u201cRestoring control to a tetraplegic (four limbs paralysed) and\nrestoring vision are extraordinary achievements. This is what I would\ncall Jesus-level technology,\u201d he said, cited by Futurism, on Thursday 21\nMay 2026.<\/p>\n
Neuralink is one of several startups and companies led by Elon Musk.\nThe world\u2019s richest person is also CEO of SpaceX, X, Tesla, and xAI.<\/p>\n
The technology developed by Neuralink is a brain implant. In the\ncompany\u2019s official release, the technology has been able to enable a\nperson to move a computer cursor using commands sent directly from the\nbrain.<\/p>\n
Now, Musk compares the technology to Jesus\u2019s miracles. Some of the\nmiracles of Jesus Christ recorded in the Bible include restoring sight\nto the blind, healing the paralysed, and restoring life to the dead.<\/p>\n
Musk wants Neuralink\u2019s technology developed to restore vision and\nlimb movement for those who have lost those abilities. However, to date\nthere is no evidence that Neuralink can realise that ambition.<\/p>\n
Elon Musk has a penchant for boasting. Musk has repeatedly been\ncaught boasting, both about his work and about trivial matters such as\nvideo games.<\/p>\n
One example is that he claimed to be among the world\u2019s top 20 players\nin the action role-playing game Diablo IV. He said this to podcaster Joe\nRogan last year.<\/p>\n
This is not the first time Musk has been accused of lying. Some time\nearlier, Yann LeCun, head of AI researchers at Meta, also accused him of\nlying about the potential for AI as intelligent as humans to emerge by\n2025.<\/p>\n
Musk is also said to have hidden the name of a researcher in a 2019\njournal article. He replaced it with the name Neuralink, his own company\ndeveloping Brain\u2013Computer Interface (BCI) technology.<\/p>\n
Another untruth told by Musk concerns Tesla\u2019s Autopilot capabilities.\nHis statements were exposed by his employee Ashok Elluswamy, Autopilot\nSoftware Director.<\/p>\n
He said the advertisement released in October 2016 did not match the\ntagline \u2018the person sitting in the driver\u2019s seat is there for legal\nreasons. He is not doing anything. The car drives itself.\u2019 This tagline\nwas also reaffirmed by Musk in a post on X.<\/p>\n
But Elluswamy said the Autopilot team were engineering and recording\ndemonstrations of the system\u2019s capabilities on his instruction.
