TANGERANG, CNBC Indonesia - Electric trucks are now hitting the\nroads, joining the growing number of electric cars and motorcycles. PT\nKrama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB) has started distributing its Fuso\neCanter electric truck, with units already operating in the Greater\nJakarta area (Jabodetabek).<\/p>\n
KTB Sales and Marketing Director Aji Jaya stated that the eCanter is\npart of the company\u2019s effort to support the government\u2019s roadmap towards\nlow-emission transport. \u201cThe Fuso eCanter is the pioneer of electric\ntrucks in Indonesia. KTB ensures a supporting ecosystem for operations,\nfrom the readiness of EV Mobile Chargers to after-sales service, to\nprovide peace of mind for consumers in operating electric vehicles,\u201d he\nsaid at the GIIAS exhibition in Tangerang on Tuesday (4\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
The vehicle handed over to PT Fastana Logistik Indonesia uses an\nM-size battery with an 83 kWh capacity, offering a range of up to 140\nkilometres and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 6 tonnes. This\nspecification is deemed suitable for urban distribution needs with fixed\nand measurable routes, particularly in the Jabodetabek region. \u201cThe Fuso\neCanter with the M-size battery can travel up to 140 kilometres. The\nvehicle is also equipped with eAxle technology that integrates the axle,\ngear, motor, and inverter functions, making maintenance easier and more\nefficient,\u201d Aji added.<\/p>\n
From the user\u2019s perspective, PT Fastana Logistik Indonesia revealed\nthat the decision to adopt an electric truck was not taken instantly.\nThe company first conducted a study on operational aspects, cost\nefficiency, and after-sales support before deciding to purchase the\neCanter unit. This evaluation process took approximately two months\nbefore the order was placed.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst, we certainly looked at the cost efficiency. It turns out this\ncan provide an effect of maybe more than 40 percent, which can save our\noperational costs,\u201d said PT Fastana Logistik Indonesia Director Subagyo\nRaharjo. Beyond the potential cost savings, the company also considered\nthe sustainability commitment of the Kapal Api Group. Fastana also\nassessed that its long experience using more than 400 Mitsubishi Fuso\nfleets provided important confidence, as the company has already\nexperienced responsive after-sales service and spare parts\navailability.<\/p>\n
