        "content": "<p>Electing legislators<\/p>\n<p>From Merdeka<\/p>\n<p>It goes without saying that all members of society have placed<br>\ntheir hopes on the newly elected legislators and members of the<br>\nPeople's Consultative Assembly (DPR\/MPR) who were installed on<br>\nOct. 1, 1997. I believe that these new people's representatives<br>\nwill be able to improve the negative image of their predecessors<br>\nwho were known to be sterile, and incapable of comprehensively<br>\nsolving problems that arose in society.<\/p>\n<p>I hope that the new legislators will be more sensitive to the<br>\npeople's aspirations and show greater enthusiasm in listening to<br>\ntheir voices. A strong DPR is a healthy DPR, which absorbs the<br>\naspirations of the people, and gives the executive the right<br>\ninput.
