Elderly couple murdered at home<\/p>\n

An elderly couple were found dead on Wednesday at their home in
\nthe Agricultural Research housing compound, Pasir Mulya-Ciomas
\nsubdistrict, West Bogor district, with gashes to their heads and
\nfaces.<\/p>\n
West Bogor Police are currently investigating the matter but
\nhave yet to name any suspect or motive behind the murder.<\/p>\n
Sulaeman Effendi, 54, was found in bed, wearing only a shirt.
\nHis wounded face was covered by his underpants, with a long gash
\nacross his midriff.<\/p>\n
His wife, Mamik Sutarmi, 54, was discovered sitting, leaning
\nagainst a cupboard in their bedroom. Her severely wounded head
\nwas also covered by an undergarment.<\/p>\n
Meliani Daud Yamani, the sister-in-law of Sulaeman, told the
\npress at the Indonesian Red Cross Hospital that the couple's
\nhousemaid, Narti, arrived at the house at 6 a.m. but found the
\ngate was still closed.<\/p>\n
She knocked on the door for some time but nobody opened it.
\nShe later went to a neighbor's house to call her employers, but
\nnobody answered the call.<\/p>\n
Narti and some neighbors tried to call Sulaeman from outside
\nthe gate. They became suspicious when there was no reply after
\nsome time. Later, they broke into the house and found both
\nvictims already dead.<\/p>\n
"Maybe the perpetrators were robbers. Some neighbors found my
\nbrother-in-law's radio behind his house. Whoever did it, they
\nshould not have brutally killed them," Meilani said, crying.<\/p>\n
She regretted that the victims' children, Budi and Wulan, had
\nrefused to live with their parents as both were already married
\nand lived with their respective families at the Vila Bogor Asri
\nhousing complex.<\/p>\n
"I have repeatedly asked them to live with Sulaeman because he
\nhad suffered a stroke, but they always refused," she said. "They
\nmust now be regretting the tragedy."<\/p>",
