        "content": "<p>Eight detained for penitentiary arson<\/p>\n<p>MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: Eight inmates were placed under<br>\npolice custody for allegedly provoking a jailbreak attempt in the<br>\nearly hours on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Makassar Penitentiary chief Djati Setiawan said the prisoners,<br>\nidentified as Bram, Iwan, Gani, Basri, Jabur, Tono, Aco and Enal,<br>\nhad instigated others to burn a block of the jail compound.<\/p>\n<p>\"Thank God, we managed to extinguish the fire so it could not<br>\nspread to other blocks in the penitentiary,\" Djati told The<br>\nJakarta Post. No prisoners escaped during the disturbance.<\/p>\n<p>He said the suspects apparently emulated some 200 inmates who<br>\nescaped from the Gunung Sari Penitentiary in August after setting<br>\nfire to it. Eight prisoners of the Gunung Sari Penitentiary are<br>\nstill at large. (27\/jun)<\/p>",
