The Indonesian National Police Chief, upon opening the national
one-way return flow at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate in Central Java on
Tuesday, as per information received in Jakarta, stated that the
work-from-home (WFH) policy is implemented to alleviate density during
the peak return flow. “So, if there are members of the public who wish
to choose to return, they can utilise tomorrow, 25, 26, 27 March; I
already conveyed this earlier and I am conveying it once again so that
the peak of this homecoming flow can be dispersed,” he said. General
Sigit explained that his side, together with other stakeholders, has
prepared several strategies to face the return flow. One of them is the
implementation of a national one-way system from KM 414 at Kalikangkung
Toll Gate to KM 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll. “We are dividing it so
that there is no bottleneck when arriving towards Jakarta. Therefore, of
course, there will be the use of functional toll roads and traffic
engineering that will be carried out,” he said. In addition, he also
urged the public to maintain security and safety. The public is advised
to utilise all facilities provided by the government at various rest
areas, service posts, or integrated posts. “So that homecomers who are
fatigued can certainly rest and not force themselves,” he stated. On
this Tuesday, the Police Chief, together with the Coordinating Minister
for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Transportation
Dudy Purwagandhi, and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, opened the
one-way lane for the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow. The one-way system is
implemented from KM 414 at Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 at Cikampek
Utama Toll Gate.
