        "content": "<p>Egypt is ready to offer the experience and expertise it gained during\nthe construction of its new administrative capital to Indonesia, which\nis continuing to develop Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN).<\/p>\n<p>Egyptian Ambassador to Indonesia Yasser Hassan Farag Elshemy stated\nthat the Egyptian government is prepared to share technical knowledge to\nsupport the completion of Indonesia\u2019s new capital project. \u201cWe are ready\nto transfer all our technical knowledge and expertise to help our\nbrothers in Indonesia complete the construction of the new capital,\u201d\nElshemy said during the celebration of the 74th National Day of the\nRepublic of Egypt in South Jakarta, quoted on Thursday (24\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Elshemy noted that Egypt has already built its New Administrative\nCapital, now known as The New Capital. The futuristic project, valued at\nUS$58 billion, is located approximately 45 kilometres east of Cairo and\nbuilt on an area of about 71,400 hectares. Designed to reduce congestion\nin Cairo while serving as the country\u2019s administrative centre, the\nproject took around 10 years to complete. The New Capital now functions\nas an administrative capital separate from Cairo, which remains the\nnation\u2019s historical and political capital.<\/p>\n<p>According to Elshemy, Egypt and Indonesia have already established\ncommunication regarding the development of IKN. Two months ago, Egypt\nreceived an Indonesian delegation led by Coordinating Minister for\nInfrastructure and Regional Development Basuki Hadimuljono to discuss\nvarious experiences in city development. He explained that one of the\nmain focuses of Egypt\u2019s new capital construction was ensuring\nconnectivity with Cairo. To achieve this, the Egyptian government built\na 110-kilometre Monorail project linking the western part of Cairo with\nthe new administrative capital in the east.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond urban development cooperation, relations between Indonesia and\nEgypt are also being strengthened through a strategic partnership signed\nduring President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s visit to Egypt in April 2025. The\nagreement covers cooperation in the economy, trade, investment,\neducation, defence, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.<\/p>",
